Product Overview

MOLYKOTE® 111 Compound is the industry-standard lubricant for valves and seals with decades of proven performance.  MOLYKOTE® 111 is formulated from a silicone oil and uses an inorganic thickener for excellent adhesion and stay-in-place performance.

MOLYKOTE® 111 Compound meets several global standards and regulation requirements for safe water contact applications, including WRAS, NSF 51, and NSF 61, water regulations advisory scheme approval (BS6920), IPL certificate of conformity, AS/NZS 4020:2018, and the hygiene suitability for drinking water contact from HyCert.

 

Applications

MOLYKOTE® 111 Compound can be applied by hand via brushing, wiping, dipping, spraying, grease gun, or automated equipment. A thinner consistency can be achieved by diluting solvents such as xylene, mineral spirits, or methyl ethyl ketone.

DuPont MOLYKOTE® 111 Compound can be used in a wide variety of industrial and commercial applications, including but not limited to the following:
 
Control and pressure plug valves
Water softener piping and faucet valves
Vacuum system sealants
High-pressure systems
Outdoor equipment and underground connections
Marine and shipboard equipment subject to washing or harsh environmental conditions
Electrical service boxes, meters, and connectors
Lubrication for rubber or plastic O-rings
Gasket and seal lubrication
Damping medium for dash pots in electronic equipment enclosures
