Application
Tool life can be extended when proper lubricants are used which helps reduce friction, wear and heat generation. While greases, pastes or oils are the typical products selected, there may also be opportunities for anti-friction coatings or dispersion as well based on the machining or metalworking operation being performed. After machining is complete it may also be necessary to prevent rust and corrosion on the bare metal surfaces by applying a protective coating.
